Originally bound within "Mammals of Australia" by John Gould, F.R.S, published in 1863, London,. This plate was from Volume III.
This print is mounted, framed and glazed. A copy of the adjacent folio is sealed to the reverse, detailing Gould's scientific observations of this species of bat "two pointed turbueles and a sharpe ridge,".
Another example of this print is held in the collections of the Museum Victoria.
