The brass dial has a raised chapter ring, cast brass foliate corner spandrels, and inset rise and fall rgulation in the arch. The backplate has exceptionally beautiful engraving of flowers and foliage and a fly back mechanism allowing minimum barrel pins and an exceptionally light pull repeating action.
The small bell top case retains its original sound frets and a beautiful patination.
John Page is listed in Baillie's 'Clockmakers of the World' as working in Ipswich from 1740 until his death in 1773.
