The original crownwheel escapement has a short bob which swings at the back of the case and the latter hangs on the wall from a steel hoop and spurs. The alarm work is mounted inside on the brass back plate. Both the going and alarm trains have ropes pulled by old lead weights.
John Robinson was working in Westminster between 1730 and 1755.
