JOLLY BOATING WEATHER

Frank Percy Wild was born in Leeds, Yorkshire.
After training as an engineer he went on to study art at the Antwerp Academy and also at Academie Julian in Paris and then in Spain.
He became a painter of genre and landscapes in oils, very often with an interesting compositional twist as can be seen in this painting.
Wild was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1900 where he exhibited works from 1893. He also exhibited 15 works at the Royal Academy from 1889 and 2 at the Royal Society of British Artists in Suffolk Street.
It is also recorded that he exhibited in the United States.
In 1892 Wild moved from Leeds to Great Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
