Portrait miniature of Lady Elizabeth Carnarvon wearing a white dress with a V shaped neckline and embellished with blue ribbons and pearls. Her hair is worn curled and lightly powdered and held with a blue ribbon with entwined pearls.

Lady Elizabeth Alicia Maria Wyndham (1752-1826) was the daughter of the Earl of Egremont. She married Henry Herbert 1st Earl of Carnarvon on 15th July 1771. They had five sons and one daughter. The family lived at Highclere Castle setting for the TV series Downton Abbey.

Watercolour on ivory in an oval gold frame, the reverse bearing a label: " Elizabeth/Lady Porchester/wife of Earl of Carnarvon.

Joseph Saunders was a London based artist and exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1778 and 1807.
