Fine early 19th Century inlaid mahogany Stick Barometer; the break-arch pediment over well engraved silvered brass register plate, decorated with floral motifs, signed by the maker and bearing mercury Fahrenheit thermometer and manually adjustable vernier; The trunk, edge moulded, herringbone veneered and with “rope-effect” banding, with exposed barometer tube terminating within turned cistern cover.


One of the finest of the Italian immigrant barometer makers, whose dynasty flourished into the 20th Century
