A double profile
in the original pear wood frame

There is another version of this profile in Her Majesty the Queen's collection (illustrated in Sue Mckechnie's British Silhouette Artists and their works, p. 581, number 1046)

This double profiles illustrate well Mr. Gibbs's two styles of painting. The King is painted in plain black with his decorations and hair scratched out with a needle. The Queen face is achieved with delicate finger printing plus some stippling and hatching. This profile was probably painted to drum-up custom as Gibbs did not have a royal appointment
minor scuffing to black paint at the edge of George's bust line and two minor blister spots on his neck and coat
