A substantial French four glass mantel clock, with a visible escapement made by Achille Brocot (1817-1878).
It has four thick bevel edge glass panels with a heavy polished brass case. The movement has a two piece enamel dial with a agate jewelled visible escapement that was invented and patented by Brocot. The 8 day movement has a mercury filled two jar pendulum and a strikes the hours and halves on a bell. It is stamped AB , the Achille Brocot logo.
