A large late 18th century Georgian mahogany Chippendale design mirror. The frame is made from mahogany veneered onto pine and has a Rococo shaped fretwork detail to the top and bottom edges. The central carving at the top of the mirror is a Prince of Wales feathers with gilt decoration. The mirror plate is exceptionally good with a bevelled edge and a lovely silvered patina. The mirror is in good original condition with a few minor repairs and losses to the veneer.
Good. There are a few minor veneer losses due to shrinkage of the pine carcass as is usual. The tips of the three gilt feathers have also been restored.
