A French brass carriage clock, dating to the end of the 19th Century. It has a doucine case, and a shaped carrying handle. It has a gilt mask with a floral decorated enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, above an alarm dial. The 8 day lever platform movement sounds the 1/4's on two gongs as in petite sonnerire striking and repeats the hours and quarters as in Grand sonnerie striking.the underside of the case has a strike silent switch. Attributed to Couaillet of Saint-Nicholas-d'Aliermont.
The brass case has been polished and lacquered, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
