Dominican Monastery, Hawksyard Priory, Staffordshire. Spode House in Staffordshire, later known as Hawksyard Priory, was gifted with its estate to the Dominican Order in the 19th Century and the house used as a boy’s public school. A church and priory were built in the grounds adjacent and the monks felled some of the trees in the park to make the tables for the refectory.
