| GODWIN |
English Designer/Architect who began career working in Ruskinian Gothic style of mid-Victorian Britain and then moved on to provide designs in the "Anglo-Japanese" taste of the Aesthetic Movement and Whistler's circle in the 1870s. His furniture was mostly executed with an ebonised finish as can be seen in a black cabinet designed for Collinson and Lock which is now at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.His designs could also be found at Liberty and Co in the 1870s and 80s.
