Louis Ami Arlaud-Jurine, circa 1790 A superb portrait of a young lady wearing white dress with blue waistband and red coral bead necklace signed with initial A on obverse, set in original silver frame with paste border and ribbon cresting.

Aralud-Jurine (1751-1829) studied art in Geneva then in Paris. After a stay in Italy he returned in 1778 to Geneva. In 1792 he settled in London where he painted Prince Edward several times and many members of the aristocracy. He exhibited at the R.A from 1792 to 1800. He is an excellent artist and his drawing is faultless
