Louis XV Vernis Martin and gilt-brass mounted clock with its original bracket, by Viger of Paris. Cartouche-shaped case surmounted by an openwork finial and dove; the floral painted case and bracket on a rich brown ground, all applied with foliate and scroll-work Rococo mounts. The drum-shaped two-train movement with silk-suspended pendulum, outside numbered countwheel half-hour striking on a bell, signed and numbered 870 on the back-plate.
8.5" domed enamel dial with fine pierced hands.
