An Edwardian brass bound oval mahogany planter.
The planter is constructed in the same way as a barrel from short planks of mahogany and bound with two broad brass bands.
The planter stands on four feet which are just four longer planks with the tips shaped as feet.
The maker's name is branded underneath 'Lister' and there is also a maker's disc inset into the inside 'R.A. Lister & Co, Makers, Dursley England'.
The planter has no liner and dooes have marks from use and from the cleaning of the brass band. (Circa 1910)
