Mahogany Quarter Chiming Bracket Clock
A fine quarter chiming bracket clock dated c.1820, by these highly respected London clockmakers, Parkinson & Frodsham.

The 8-day triple fusee movement is border engraved, and signed for the makers, in an engraved oval. It chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells, and strikes the hours. The clock has a chime/silent selection slot above the dial.

The Gothic revival lancet top mahogany case has well-figured veneers, and brass string inlay to the base, and an unusual moon and stars pattern inlay above the dial.

The case has lions mask handles to the sides above the material-backed brass sound-frets. The locking back door is glazed.

The 8-inch white enamelled dial is also signed for Parkinson & Frodsham, London, and set behind a fine-ridged brass bezel and original high-domed glass.

Very elegant matching unifoil hands from black steel.

To be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
This firm of chronometer, clock and watch makers was established in 1801 by William James Frodsham (1778-1850) and William Parkinson (died circa 1842). It traded from 4 Change Alley between 1801-90.
