A fine and imposing early 1800s bell-top bracket clock with matching bracket, the mahogany case with well-figured veneers and with well-cast ormolu mounts and finials.
The case has material-backed brass fretwork panels to the front, the canted corners with ormolu mounts, and arched fish-scale frets to the sides. The rear door is glazed.

The 8-day twin fusee movement has an anchor escapement, striking the hours on a clear bell with pull repeat cord. The shaped and engraved backplate is signed 'Evans, Royal Exchange, London'. The large pendulum is similarly engraved and has a fine adjustment screw with scale.

The signed break arch Roman dial is cream painted, with a date aperture square above the VI, and a strike / silent dial in the arch.
