Marcolini Meissen porcelain sauceboat stand. Crossed swords underglaze blue with the star below, indicating the period when the Meissen factory was under the charge of Count Marcolini.

The central scene of this Meissen sauceboat stand depicts three gentlemen, one wearing a distinctive puce coat, awaiting embarkation onto a sailing ship, which is being loaded. In the background, classical ruins overlook the scene. The rim of the sauce boat stand is decorated with a band of a green chequered pattern, set between the gilded edge and an inner ring of gilded scrolls with florets underneath this border.

There is a number 38 impressed, which may refer to the mould number for this type of this Meissen sauceboat stand.
Some rubbing to the gilding, the porcelain has been re-affixed (see photos)
