Meissen form number 2652 = Model year 1759

The model is after an engraving by Gabriel Huquier after Boucher's series "Scènes de la vie chinoise" (Collection Rothschild no. 1133). The series was published between 1738 and 1745. In some examples Boucher referred to Chinese woodblock prints from 1696 (see Perrin Stein, 2011).
We only know one comparative piece: Collection Nellie Ionides (Sotheby’s, 21.04.1964, no. 93).
