French Porcelain Pot Pourri and Pierced Cover,
Mennecy,
Circa 1750-55

The Mennecy porcelain pot pourri jar and pierced cover has applied individual florets (en forme de pelotes de neige) or schneeballblüten decoration (balls of snows) and a naturalistic moss-covered rocky base modelled with a branching tree to one side and a fox on the other. The cover similarly decorated and with three series of holes for pot-pourri in the shape of a flower-head. There is a single raised flower finial.
