Michele Pace del Campidoglio
(Rome, 1625 - 1669)
School of

Still Life with Fruits

Roman School of the second half of the 17th century

oil on canvas

cm: 73 x 63
with frame 88 x 79

This work is inspired by the models proposed from the middle of the seventeenth century by Michele Pace (Rome, 1625-1669), a Roman painter called "Michelangelo del Campidoglio".

The complex layout of the different types of superimposed fruits and their positioning, the marble pot with the friezes of classical figures and the outline of the landscape in the background are all typical elements of the painter's works. Born in Rome, he spent much of his professional career, except for a short documentary trip, in the last phase of his life, in Naples.

The pictorial drawing of our canvas is a ritual that is later than the complete baroque, between the sixth and the eighteenth century.

For example, some similarities with the work of another specialist of this type, such as the most famous Bartolomeo Castelli (Rome 1696-1738), are easy: the style of this work also reveals stylistic attributes with this master.

The common elements suffice to suggest a stylistic connection of the canvas to a painter very close to the work of these personalities.

The canvas is in a good state of conservation (conservation and restoration are carried out).

With antique frame.

The painting, like all our object, is sold with a certificate of authenticity with photographic documentation.

We take care of the organization in a professional and safe transport. For more informationwww.antichitacastelbarco.it/spedizioni.html
