A mahogany and inlay bracket clock dating to the early 19th Century. The Gothic arch case has boxwood stringing and yew wood inset panels, standing on substantial brass ogee bracket feet. The 5 inch convex dial has fine lettering and is signed by the maker Grohe of Wigmore Street, London and has a cast brass bezel with a high dome bevel edge glass. The high quality 8 day fusee timepiece movement unusually has a dead beat escapement.
James Grohe is listed as working 1832-81.
The case has been repolished and is in excellent condition,. The movement as been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months.
