The cabinet has been made using West Indian Satinwood from the 18th Century and this is evident from the colour, patination and grain on the sides of the piece. The panelled doors are beautifully inlaid and open to reveal shelves. This cabinet is of the highest quality and a superb example of English furniture.
Holland and Sons were one of the largest and most successful furniture makers in the 19th Century and worked extensively for the Royal family, decorating and furnishing Osborne House, Sandringham, Balmoral, Windsor Castle and the apartments of the Prince and Princess of Wales at Marlborough House.
