Excellent painting and potting with the centre showing a typical aquatic scene with a duck swimming around aquatic plants of reeds and lilies.
The outer border painted with lily pads alternating with lotus flowers.
Excellent colour and although it is export porcelain it is not typical of the early Kraak. Kraak is a term that applies to the early trade porcelain that was brought from China by the East India Companies. Kraak is a derivation of the type of the vessel they were transhipped on 'carrack'
The domed centre is thought to be a copy of the Dutch pewter shapes of this period, Although many of the plates are larger than this pretty saucer it is an excellent example of this type.
