The tea pot is potted in the Meissen style which was copying the European silver shaped tea pots of the time. It is bullet shaped with a flat lid with a bud finial. The handle is bracket shaped and the spout is long and straight.
The painting shows willow and peony on a fenced terrace over looking a rocky river landscape. On an island is a scholar's retreat with a pine tree.
the painting is excellent and the colour very good and there is no degrading of the glaze.
The cargo was found by fishermen and salvaged by Captain Michael Hatcher and his divers who had learnt the skill when salvaging the first of the so called Hatcher cargos a few years earlier.
The salvaged cargo was sold through Christies Amsterdam 234 years after the sinking in 1986
