Porcelain New Hall helmet jug with fluted sides.

The hard paste porcelain in which this jug is fashioned is a unusual medium for an early English factory to have used, the majority of English firms' porcelain output being of a soft paste.

A lead-glaze has been used. The jug has a circular pedestal foot and a loop handle tapered out at the top to provide a thumb rest.

The interior decoration are four pendant scrolls and four of flowers and leaves. The reserved exterior decoration is of eight small scattered springs in purple and a purple design to the handle exterior.

A similar example is held in the V&A porcelain collection, accession number c.88-1966
