| NEW HALL PORCELAIN (NEWHALL) |
New Hall Porcelain, 1781-1835
New Hall is linked historicaly with the two hard-paste factories of Plymouth and Bristol. It was founded in Staffordshire by a group of local potters who bought Richard Champion's patent for hybrid hard-paste in 1781. The works must certainly rank as a leading 18th century concern, although the factory made no figures and very few decorative wares. The majority of its production were tea and dessert wares, jugs and punch bowls. |
