Framed size 7 ½ x 11 inches
Born Charles Durdin Kelley in Plymouth, he came to settle in Newlyn with his mother and sister in 1877.
He seems to have stayed and painted in Newlyn until the mid 1880’s.
Durdin and Henry Martin were the only two artists listed as living in Newlyn in the 1881 census, although it was an art center for many famous painters at the time.
He is known to have exhibited a work of Newlyn harbour in 1879.
By 1892 he is listed as having moved to Tipperary, Ireland and exhibited a work at the Royal Hibernian Academy in that year.
