The pipe bowl section of a long-stemmed pipe. The smaller end would be placed into the lower part of the stem and the user would draw in air through the bowl containing the burning tobacco up through the long section of the stem (not illustrated).
Some rubbing to images, two slight hairlines
The pipe bowl is decorated with a military scene,a gun carriage and escorts. This piece is unusual because it includes the name of a soldier.who was a member of a Danish regiment. Jens Christian Jorgensen is recorded as a member of Battalion 413 and the pipe includes the dates 1893 - 1894. These pipe bowls were, for the most part, made in Germany and Denmark.
