The native peoples of the northwest coast and islands differ considerably in culture from the other North America are related to the tribes of the northwest coast resemblence to certain peoples on the coast of northeast Asia.
Tlingit carved horn spoons were used along the entire length of the northwest coast during feasts, they number among the very earliest examples of northwest coast art.
