Five volumes complete - Sense and Sensibility - xv, , 331pp, ; Pride and Prejudice - , 340pp; Emma , 435pp, ; Mansfield Park , 424pp and Northanger Abbey / Persuasion - , 440pp. Uniform contemporary full calf, raised bands, with spines in six panels, morocco running title label to second panel, matching volume title label to third, remaining panels gilt with double fillet frames and volute corner pieces, volume number to fourth panel and date to foot, covers with gilt double fillet border with an inner triple fillet frame in blind, gilt roll to edges, all edges marbled with Stormont pattern marbled endpapers. Slightly rubbed to extremities, corners lightly bumped. Volume five has a small repair to head of upper joint, boards very slightly bowed. Internally some light foxing and browning, front joint of volume four slightly cracked between the ffeps, but holding well with no real weakness. Armorial book plate of Edward St. John Mildmay to front pastedowns , with the name of Letitia Mildmay (his grand-daughter) in ink to ffeps. Volumes three, four and five lack the half-titles. Each volume with the additional engraved title and frontispiece. Now housed in a cloth, velvet lined slipcase made by Temple Bookbinders.
