Eight novels in seven volumes - Volume One - 'Adam Bede', vi, 470pp; Volume Two - 'Mill on the Floss', vii, , 486pp; Volumes Three and Four - 'Silas Marner' and 'Scenes of a Clerical Life', , 158pp, , 330pp; Volume Five - 'Felix Holt The Radical', , 430pp; Volume Six - 'Romola', v, , 504pp; Volume Seven - 'Middlemarch', viii, 621pp,  and Volume Eight - 'Daniel Deronda', , 612pp. Contemporary uniform half calf and combed marbled paper over boards, raised bands, spines in six panels, morocco running title to second panel, contrasting morocco volume and novel title label to third, remaining panels with central quatrefoil in gilt framed within a pointille border with volute corner pieces, all edges marbled, with combed marbled endpapers. Spines very slightly faded, minor rubbing to extremities, one or two corners slightly bumped. Internally very lightly browned, previous owners ink stamp to ffeps, otherwise quite bright and clean.
