A very high quality richly figured mahogany octagonal top tripod table attributed to Thomas Chippendale. The moulded edge top supported on an elegant vase shaped column and exquisitely swept moulded legs ending in scroll toes raised on simple pads.
The design of this table mirrors closely another octagonal topped table supplied by Chippendale for Aske Hall, 19 Arlington Street, London, (ref. The Life and Works of Thomas Chippendale by Christopher Gilbert, plate 470.
