Original vintage poster advertising the Collection of Karl Stroher Exhibition at the Stadtische Kunsthalle Dusseldorf from 22 May to 12 June 1969. Image of the iconic silkscreen painting of Marilyn Monroe, the Marilyn Diptych, by the renowned American pop artist Andy Warhol (1928-1987), produced shortly after her death in 1962 using a publicity photograph from a 1953 film, Niagara. Karl Stroher (1890-1977) was a German businessman and art patron. His collection of American pop art and minimalist art was originally housed in Darmstadt and now forms part of the Museum fur Moderne Kunst (MKK; Museum of Modern Art) in Frankfurt. Printed by Alfried Holle, Dusseldorf. Excellent condition.
