The circular silvered brass engraved register scale reads from 28 – 31 inches and has a radiating star in the centre. It is surmounted by a swan-necked top with an ivory urn in the centre. At the base of the trunk, the maker has engraved his name on a silvered brass rectangular plaque with a brass moulded surround and centred by a spirit level.
Height: 39 ½ in (100 cm) including finial
* P. Aggio is recorded on page 5 of Edwin Banfield’s book ‘Barometer Makers and Retailers 1660-1900’ as working in Colchester between 1820 and 1845.
