A rare closely matched pair of late 18th century pewter three handled loving cups or passing cups. These appear to have originated in the Bristol area. One is marked with B&P (item 740, page 173 in ‘Cotterell’), Robert Bush and Richard Perkins, circa 1775 also marked with what appears to be a fox head, this mark is rather indistinctly illustrated in the same entry in Cotterell. The other cup is marked N R, this mark is not in Cotterell but may possibly be one of the Rich family, No 3920, page 293 in Cotterell, the Rich family were from Bristol, one of the family were apprenticed to Robert Bush in the 1780s, this cup is also marked with a cockerel and a fox head.
These cups are in excellent old condition.
