Pair of Antique Victorian Sterling Silver and Glass Candlesticks
Offered by AC Silver
The Corinthian capital of each candlestick retains the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconce ornamented with a bead decorated border.
Each candlestick has an unusual cut glass column onto a circular sterling silver collet setting and bead bordered square swept spreading base.
The base is ornamented with a fine and impressive applied belt and buckle bordered crest of an arm couped at the shoulder in a maunch, embowed in fess, the elbow resting on the wreath below the motto ‘Fidem Servo’ – I keep faith.
Both candlesticks have weighted bases as expected and are fitted with green baize to the underside.
Base 8cm/3.1" square
An accurate weight cannot be provided as these candlesticks have glass columns and weighted bases.

The wear to each candlestick is in keeping with age.
Such candlesticks with glass columns are rare to the market, and are therefore worthy of inclusion in the AC Silver inventory.
