Each with winged figures of Victory holding aloft multi candelabra with scrolled branches each terminating in drip pans and nozzles, whilst standing on spheres.

These impressive candelabra with winged figures of Victory derive from a design for similar candelabra by the architect Charles Percier as part of a commission to furnish Empress Josephine's bedroom at the chateau de St. Cloud, which is illustrated in H. Ottomeyer & P. Pr, et. al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich,1986, vol. I, p. 328, fig. 5.2.1. These designs frequently associated with Thomire were also executed by Claude Galle. Two similar candelabra by Galle are illutrated in Op. cit. vol. I, p. 335, fig. 5.2.18 and vol. II, p. 705 fig 21. Both of these candelabra are of similar design as this pair. The first pair, illustrated in vol II. were supplied to the Boudoir in the Petit Trianon in 1809. The second pair, Illustrated in vol. I were supplied to the Grand Trianon also in 1809.
