The curved backs with fiddle-shaped splats and dished crest rails, above the moulded trapezoidal seats, raised on well shaped cabriole front legs terminating in pointed feet and square cut and chamfered back supports, united by turned H-stretchers. The drop-in seat frames of later date, recently recovered in period-correct contemporary Bargello-type woven material.
Very good original condition, superb colour and fantastic patina. One chair is virtually woodworm-free, the other one has minor signs of old worming, as expected of genuine antique walnut furniture; minor period repairs. Minor differences to splats and stretchers. Very sturdy and useful, a lot of character.
