A fine and elegant pair of of cream painted and parcel gilt pedestals of baluster form, the later round marble discs on an egg and dart cornice above a carved palm leaf and fluted stem, standing on a tripartite plinth with lead scroll feet.

This fabulous pair of pedestals strongly resemble the architectural designs of Robert Adam (1728-1792).
Of particular note are the similarities to the ceiling and column treatments by Robert Adam in the front dining room at Chandos House, London.
