A pair of late 19th century Japanese Satsuma pottery vases converted into table lamps.
The four sided Meiji period (1868 - 1912) vases have panels that are decorated with groups of Japanese people in traditional dress.
The four sides have a panel of Japanese ladies seated, a group of ladies standing, Japanese men in a bamboo glade and a group of Deity.
The vases have a gilded wood turned top to which the lamp is attached and a gilt wood plinth base.
The lamps are in good condition and have not been drilled.
The lamps come with the pair of silk shades which do have some damage at the back. (Circa 1890)
