A Pair of late 19th century Japanese Satsuma pottery vases from the Meiji period (1860-1911).
The vases have a dark blue background glaze decorated with finely painted gilt chrysanthemums and two large hand painted panels.
The scenes on the panels are of a Japanese lady and a child in a garden with the kimonos they are wearing detailed in gilt.
The other scene is of an Asian pheasant amongst flowers, trees and foliage.
The vases are signed underneath with a caricature mark in gold on a red background.
The vases are very good quality and in good condition.
