A pair of late 19th to earl 20th century Japanese Satsuma pottery vases.
These Meiji period (1864-1911) vases have a dark blue background with two panels of hand painted scenes between finely painted gilt decoration.
The scenes are of a Japanese lady in a traditional kimono being fanned by a house boy with a child playing in the background.
The other scene is of brightly coloured birds and flowers beside a lake.
The vases are in very good condition and come with a pair of turned wood stands. (Circa 1900)
