A pair of late 18th century Blue John candlesticks.
The form of the candlesticks is dominated by the urn shaped Blue John in the centre of each.
The superb quality of the ormolu mounts feature a cup decorated with laurel leaves and berries, below which the bobeche is decorated with an engine turned perimeter.
The main body of the Blue John leads to a dragooned collar which is mounted on a white marble and Blue John pedestal.
Each measure 28cm in height.
There is major fracturing of the Blue John urn in one of the candle sticks which has subsequently been restored. The damage probably occurred in the first half of the 20th century judging by the resins used for repairs.
