A pair of late 19th century two-branch ormolu wall lights (sconces). These wall lights, originally intended for gas but later drilled for wiring (electric), feature an elegant quiver of arrows running the length of the light's shaft. The branches wrap round the body of the fixture as an elegant hint to the Roman symbolism of strength through unity. The gold colour of the ormolu is rich and well suited to the Louis XVI style in which the lights are produced in.
French, circa 1880.
