Pair of Nineteenth Century Sporting Highland Scenes
Offered by Thomas Coulborn & Sons
Colin Graeme Roe was from the Sheffield area and is thought to be the son of Robert Henry Roe. Roe signed his work both ‘Colin Graeme Roe’ and ‘Colin Graeme’. A highly gifted artist he was known for his excellent depiction of Scottish highland sporting scenes and his clever use of impasto to enhance the texture of his paintings. He was particularly fond of painting setters, both the Gordon and Irish varieties.
