A Magnificent rare pair of Georgian Urn Tea Caddies veneered in Satinwood with tulip wood cross bandings, boxwood stringing and a turned finial with bone escutcheon.
Each Urn is beautifully painted with tied ribbons, naturalistic floral garlands and Roman Lady's on every other panel, this work was very fashionable in the George III period and was popularized by famous Architects such as “Robert Adam“.
The interior lids are lined with an emerald green velvet and gold braid, the caddies have a single lid with a tulipwood cross banding and boxwood lines with a single turned wooden handle. Lifting the inner lid shows all of its original tin lining, each caddy comes with a fully working lock & tasselled keys.
