A fantastic quality pair of sterling silver and gilt compotes with central fruit decoration. These heavy dishes resemble from the top a giant circular flower petal with a single flower embossed to alternate segments. The pedestal foot has a pretty flower and leaf decoration and to the front there is an engraved crest and the motto “fortuna sequatur”. Weight 1640 grams, 52.7 troy ounces. Height 13 cms. Diameter 26 cms. London 1877. Maker Walter & John Barnard.
These exceptional silver fruit dishes are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The gilt is original and very rich and bright. Each dish has matching silver marks under the rim which are clear and easy to read. Very good weight.

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
