Schweickhardt settled in The Netherlands as a child and became the first Director of the Free Academy in The Hague. Painted landscapes and cattle as well as being an engraver and interior decorator (wall paintings, murals), he also painted miniatures and portraits.In 1786 Schweickhardt settled in London, exhibiting at the Royal Academy from 1788 - 1796 and at the Society of Arts in 1790.Schweikhardt's works are now exhibited in The National Gallery, London; The Louvre, Paris; Berlin, Brussels, The Hague, Montreal .........
