The Mug stands on an applied stepped spreading foot and the main body has a tucked in base, slightly baluster form, and everted rim. The plain scroll handle is attached to the main body with an oval moulding. The front is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by a crisp cartouche of scrolls, strap work, flower heads and Rococo shells - a typical design for this date. The Mug is very well marked in the base and has a good colour. The weight and gauge of this piece is exceptional, which is no surprise when you consider the maker.

Height: 3.9 inches, 9.75cm.
Diameter of the foot: 3.1 inches, 7.75cm.
Weight: 10oz.
